The summer of 2021 is expected to bring a new level of uncertainty regarding how we will continue to maintain the vital human connections enjoyed by Rotary over the years. Although the "hands in space" idea is definitely a the norm in our lives There's no doubt the confidence of Rotary has been growing and more members are making face-toface connections. Rotary has, however, evolved. We are in the summer of 2021 there is a lot of doubt regarding how Rotary will be able to give the same kind of connection which Rotary members had in the past continues. Though the old adage of 'hands faces will certainly continue to be a component of our practice, it's evident that confidence is building and connections between face-to-face are happening. Rotary however has evolved. Rotary is a social network which fosters lasting friendships. We've improved our methods of holding online meetings for our business while introducing service and social activity using a friendly face-toface approach. Our newfound opportunities have combined with what we learned from previous outbreaks to bring a fresh and new perspective for Rotary. It's an encouraging thing to hear that 75% of Rotary clubs are planning to carry on their "business regular" actions. Amanda Watkin, General Secretary's column from Rotary Magazine. In a Rotary survey conducted recently it was encouraging to find the fact that 75% the clubs had planned their normal events and initiatives that have previously benefited communities across Great Britain and Ireland. As proud as I am to see that the Rotary Centre continues to support numerous community initiatives that benefit the people who are members of Rotary and help keep them safe as well, compliance and insurance are vital. The imagination and creativity of our members to find solutions to some of the most difficult challenges is incredible and I am so very happy that the chance to become a member of Rotary was offered to me in 2002. As with many others, Rotary have provided me with the security of a solid network of likeminded people from which genuine friendships have grown over the past twenty years. We should now be sharing Rotary and ask our family friends and colleagues to join us as members of the most amazing world-wide network in which you truly are able to make a difference.
